Description
Earldom of Desmond Once held by English force, Desmond was left vacant with the withdrawal of English authority. Seizing the moment, the native lords of Desmond took up arms and forged a new earldom from the chaos. United with Thomond and Ormond, Desmond became a founding pillar of the Kingdom of Munster. Now the southern bulwark of the realm, the earldom commands vital ports and a growing fleet, its ships carrying trade and wealth that bolster Munster’s economy and bind it to the wider world.
