Description
CIA SAC (Special Activities Center) is a highly secretive division within the Central Intelligence Agency's Directorate of Operations. It is responsible for the agency's covert action and paramilitary operations, missions that the U.S. government can officially deny any involvement in. SAC operates under Title 50 authority which allows it to conduct intelligence activities and covert programs without the same public oversight as traditional military forces. The center is often described as the CIA's "third option", the choice used when diplomacy is not enough and overt military action is not desired or appropriate.
