It oversees military strategy, force readiness, recruitment, training, logistics, procurement, and national defense planning. The Department ensures that the Realm maintains a capable and disciplined military prepared to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests. Through the coordination of the Civil Guard, Navy, Air Force, and other military branches, it serves as the principal authority for all matters relating to the Realm's defense and military operations.
