Description
Mil-it-si-ya are the main USSR police force, patrolling in the cities and keeping order within them. Some of their units even have permission to assist the Red Guard in guarding the Premier. ------------- Short History: The name mil-it-si-ya applied to police forces originates from a Russian Provisional Government decree and from early Soviet history. Both the Provisional Government and the revolutionaries intended to associate their new law-enforcement authority with the self-organisation of the people and to distinguish it from the former police.
