A mask of Ushi-Oni, a traditional Japanese yokai (supernatural creature). Ushi-Oni is a yokai found in legends throughout Japan. In most stories, it is described as fierce and violent. In Japan, legends of Ushi-Oni are said to date back as far as the Kamakura period (around the late 12th century), and they may even be older. It is a yokai with a long history, and in modern fictional works, it is often portrayed as a powerful supernatural being.
