"De Oppresso Liber — To Free the Oppressed." The Nineteenth Special Forces Group is one of the two Special Forces groups in the Army National Guard. Its headquarters stands at Camp Williams in Bluffdale, Utah, named for Staff Sergeant Aaron Butler, and its companies are spread across California, Washington, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Ohio, Montana, Colorado and Texas. The lineage was reconstituted on the fifteenth of April, nineteen sixty, then withdrawn from the Regular Army and given to the National Guard on the first of May the following year. Its soldiers went into Kuwait ahead of the invasion of Iraq in two thousand and three, and have supported Afghanistan since two thousand and one.
