Reactor Maryla

Maryla Reactor (Small Laboratory Reactor) - a Polish nuclear reactor with a swimming pool structure, cooled and moderated by water. It was launched on December 29, 1963 at the Institute of Nuclear Research in Świerk. It was designed to operate with a thermal power of 250 W (in practice, it operated at approximately 100 W), which is why it was called a zero power reactor or a critical set, because it did not need active heat dissipation. It was designed as a prototype of a training reactor. After many significant modifications, the reactor was decommissioned in the mid-1970s.
