| 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲. | Est. 1774 Founded in 1845 by Johann Wynvelt, the Monarch Navigation Company quickly became one of Britain's leading transatlantic shipping lines, earning a reputation for reliability, comfort, and innovation. Due to the line being founded in the Virginia colony, it operated as both a British, and American line after 1776. In 1845, it faced financial trouble, but was saved. The line had been passed down from generation, to generation. In 1902, the Monarch Navigation Company was emerged into IMMC by American banker Theodore Winfield, along with other lines to try and monopolize the North Atlantic shipping trade. He would appoint his friend, Matthew Hearst, as chairman and the line began take off drastically during the early 1910s.
