𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐋. 𝐉𝐄𝐌𝐓𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄 The regiment has its origins in the regiments of Ångermanland, Medelpad and Jämtland, which were set up in 1646 in the newly conquered province of Jämtland. But it soon became it's own independent regiment. Jämtlands regemente guarded the frontier against Norway. It proved its worth under Karl X Gustav at the Battle of Nowy Dwór.
