Description
𝐊𝐎𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐀 𝐒𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐍 In 1808, Sweden stood at a moment of grave strain and uncertainty. Under Gustav IV Adolf, the kingdom was deeply committed to resisting Revolutionary and Napoleonic France, yet this resolve increasingly left Sweden isolated in a Europe remade by war and shifting alliances. The loss of Finland had not yet occurred, but the danger was already gathering on the eastern frontier, while the nation’s finances, diplomacy, and military strength were under severe pressure.
