Description
The East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) serves the 4.8 million residents of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire (excluding Glossop, Hadfield, and Tintwistle), Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire (including North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire), and Northamptonshire. It was formed in 1999 by merging numerous county ambulance services, and it was dissolved and reconstituted under the same name in July 2006 as part of a nationwide ambulance service reorganisation.
