Description
Smokejumpers are highly trained wildland fire crews specialized in dropping into the site of the fire by parachute and applying an initial attack to wildland fires. Along with providing an initial attack to the fires, they can be responsible for providing leadership for extended attacks on wildland fires. Smokejumpers are supplied with MREs, and firefighting tools by means of parachute when on the ground, making them able to operate up to 48 hours.
