The Kremlin Regiment was an elite ceremonial and security unit tasked with the protection of key state facilities and senior leadership of the Soviet Union. Throughout the Cold War era, the regiment guarded the Moscow Kremlin, government buildings, and strategic state sites, while also performing high-profile ceremonial duties. Selected for discipline, appearance, and reliability, its personnel represented the authority and permanence of the Soviet state.
