Description
The Mersea Bridge Authority was created in 1922 to oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of the Mersea Bridge, completed in 1919. Spanning the River Andy, the bridge links Mersea Island. Built in the aftermath of the Great Continental War, the bridge was one of the first large-scale steel truss spans in the region and is currently the 12th longest bridge in the Union of Columbia. Its completion transformed Mersea Island from an isolated outpost into a coastal trade hub.
