Nicholas I is dead, and Alexander II has inherited the vast Russian throne. This is not the only problem the Empire faces, however. The country is split over the problem of serfdom, with the landowners opposing an emancipation and the Tsar himself pushing for one. Can the Tsar restore Russia to greatness? Can Russia return to being the primary world power?
