It emerged as the primary contender in the coal mining industry, taking advantage of the increasing demand for coal during the industrial revolution. The company capitalized on the vast coal reserves discovered in the region and secured exclusive mining rights through negotiations with the colonial empires. Austral-Pacific evolved into a formidable "nation", akin to the East India Company, amassing enormous wealth and influence. Initially operating as a coal mining company, it expanded into various sectors, including shipping, manufacturing, finance, and trade. Its monopolistic control over the coal industry allowed it to dictate terms and exert significant political power. Within a decade of its formation, Austral-Pacific controlled the entire continent.
