Chicago Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics "We Serve and Protect" ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Chicago Police SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team is a specialized unit that is trained to handle high-risk situations that go beyond the capabilities of regular patrol officers. The primary goal of a SWAT team is to resolve incidents involving armed and dangerous suspects while minimizing the risk to officers, civilians, and the suspects themselves. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ To join the CPD Special Weapons and Tactics team must be a Officer of the Chicago Police Department, be personally recommended by your current Captain, complete a tryout, and attend and graduate from S.W.A.T school, passing will a 90% or above on the final exam.
