The 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 (𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗔) is the independent federal oversight body responsible for reviewing national security and intelligence activities conducted by Government of Canada departments and agencies. The Agency ensures accountability, legality, and transparency across Canada’s security and intelligence framework. NSIRA conducts comprehensive reviews, investigates complaints, and reports findings to Parliament to strengthen democratic oversight and public confidence in national security institutions. NSIRA was established under the National Security and Intelligence Review Agency Act, providing its authority and mandate with core responsibilities including: • Review of intelligence and security operations • Complaint investigation and adjudication • Oversight of classified activities • Reporting to Parliament and the public
