Description
Denmark and Norway were both nations that formed and consolidated during the late Viking Age. Through the formation of the Kalmar Union in 1397, Denmark would gain the thrones of Sweden and Norway until Swedish independence in 1523. Denmark would still retain Norway and would become a Protestant state during the Protestant Reformation. Denmark would form itself as the protector of Protestant nations. With war looming across Europe, Denmark has set itself as a protector of the Protestant states against Catholic oppression. Only time will tell if Denmark can retain its title as protector of Protestantism.
