Burma Ministry of Foreign Affairs #35714807
Description
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Burma, established after the CPB’s revolutionary victory in the 1940s, functioned as both a diplomatic institution and an ideological instrument of the socialist state. Guided by the Chairman, it aligned Burma with the broader socialist bloc while promoting anti-colonial liberation movements and maintaining ties with neutral nations under “People’s Diplomacy.” Its emblem, a golden bow across the globe framed by rice stalks and a red star, symbolized Burma’s revolutionary heritage and global mission. Beyond conventional diplomacy, the MOFA tightly monitored foreign embassies in Rangoon and projected Burma as the vanguard of Southeast Asian socialism.
