(NOTE: THIS IS FICTIONAL ALT-HISTORY) House Corvinus is the ruling dynasty of the Western Empire, regally known as the Corvinus Imperium, and more commonly known as the People's Republic of the Americas (PRA). After a series of revolutions, the dynasty came into power officially following a public 1987 referendum that revealed the majority of the population was in favor of monarchical rule. Despite this, anti-monarchy sentiment served as a catalyst for several uprisings that would occur sporadically throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, especially among conservative movements initially quelled by the revolutions of 1970 and 1978. Such sentiment, however, would eventually subside with the benevolent, popular rule of Protector Imperator Taurus Corvinus. So as to maintain revolutionary ideals of equality, House Corvinus does not make use of traditional noble titles and roles besides House Knights, who serve only as elite bodyguards.
