𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐉𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐘 大日本帝国陸軍 As the primary land force of the Empire of Japan, the Imperial Japanese Army played a central role in Japan’s continental expansion and military campaigns across East Asia and the Pacific. It initiated the invasion of Manchuria in 1931 and expanded operations into China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. During World War II, the Army conducted major campaigns in Southeast Asia, the Pacific islands, and Burma. While initially successful, it faced increasing setbacks due to logistical difficulties, extended supply lines, and growing Allied resistance after 1942.
