Equites Singulares Augusti 'SINE PARI' Drawn exclusively from veteran Praetorians, the Equites are the Empire's premier cavalry swordsmen. They are committed only when ordinary formations are no longer enough—when an enemy flank must be shattered, a breakthrough must be exploited, or a commander must be taken dead or alive. Across the Empire, they are feared for the same reason. When the Equites appear on the horizon, flanks collapse. Retreats become routs. Generals disappear in chains, and are never heard from again. Every outrider is expected to think independently, fight with relentless aggression, and prevail regardless of the odds. Membership is earned through proven excellence and maintained only through continued performance. Among the Equites, yesterday's victories earn nothing. There is no permanent place among the Equites.
