Description
𝐆𝐀𝐄𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐈 « 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆 𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂 » The Gaesatai are the free warriors who stand beneath the banners of Massalia, drawn from the Gaulic and Ligurian peoples who surround the polis. Though they do not possess the full privileges of citizenship, they hold a respected place within the strength of the State, bound to Massalia through loyalty. Serving alongside the citizen ranks of the Stratos, the Gaesatai provide the manpower and experience upon which the armies of the polis rely. Through generations of service, many earn honour and recognition among the forces of Massalia, becoming a bridge between the Hellenic traditions of the city and the peoples of the lands beyond its walls. ₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪₪ The strength beyond the walls; the spear beside the citizen.
