During the Peloponnesian War, Sparta won against its rival; The Athenians, and gained influence and gained hegemony over the whole of the Greek World. They were also recognized as the leading force of the unified Greek military Persian Wars in which they famously held the Hot Gates of Thermopylae against 10,000+ Persians. AHOU, AHOU, AHOU!
