Description
The Athenian navy, founded in earnest by the famed politician and soldier, Themistocles, rapidly grew from a few measly ships, to a truly massive force: Funded by new, recently discovered silver deposits, initially the navy served to defend against Persian invasion: And it proved it's value by doing so during the famed battle of Salamis. After this, it was the navy that enabled Athens to expand, and assert it's dominance over what would become the Delian League - and even now, it will be the navy that allows us to flourish, still. With Poseidon's blessings, we will sail. We will fight. And we will dominate.
