Mayflоwer Bureаu of Investigation #540298645
Description
The Mayflower Bureau of Investigation, first founded in 1931 as the Bureau of Law Enforcement, began with a staff of thirty investigators handling cases directly under the Department of Justice. It was dissolved in 1941 when the Mayflower State Police assumed most of its duties. After the 1992 Lander Riots exposed failures in state and county investigations, Acting Attorney General Al Berkley ordered investigative powers returned to the DOJ. In 1993, the State Senate passed the Mayflower Investigations Act, officially restoring the MBI under the Department of Justice. Today, the MBI serves as Mayflower’s lead investigative agency, focusing on public corruption, misconduct, and major criminal cases.
