Though the resulting agreement did abolish the Shogunate and establish a federal government with nominal control over the whole nation, the Daimyo maintained their authority regionally. This would be the status quo for the next six decades. Fighting between Daimyos erupted once again over the future of Japan and her role across the globe. A newly empowered Shogunate has been established to guide the nation in the face of chaos and civil war.
