Description
Founded to prepare His Majesty's Canadian Forces for service at home and overseas. The Royal Canadian School of Infantry is responsible for the training of all ranks entering the infantry — from basic recruit instruction through to officer candidate preparation. Modelled on the training centres and Officers' Training Centres that trained Canadian soldiers throughout the Second World War, the School takes in new recruits, drills them in fieldcraft, weapons handling and discipline and prepares officer candidates for command of platoons and companies in the field. Every soldier of His Majesty's Canadian Forces passes through these gates before taking their place in the line. The School is commanded by its Commandant, supported by a Chief Instructor and Training Sergeant Major responsible for the standard of instruction and discipline across all companies. Discipline through instruction. Readiness through training.
