Our forefathers fought without rest so that the banner of Islam would endure and the word of the Prophet would reach the farthest horizons. From the marches of Anatolia they forged an empire through faith, blood, and steel, overcoming kingdoms and sultanates alike until three continents stood beneath the shadow of the House of Osman. Though the years have brought hardship, and though Karlowitz marked the first great retreat of our dominion, the strength of our state has not been extinguished. What was won through sacrifice shall not be surrendered through despair. The inheritance of our fathers remains in our hands, and the duty to preserve it now rests upon our shoulders. Our struggle is not yet over; our blood has not yet run dry.
