Crown of Iberia #792663004

Description
The Reconquista was a long historical period in the Iberian Peninsula (where Spain and Portugal are today) that lasted from the 700s to the late 1400s. During this time, different groups were trying to gain control over land. At first, much of the area was taken over by new rulers from the south, and over many centuries, local kingdoms in the north slowly expanded their territories again. It wasn't just one big event—it was many smaller ones, involving alliances, cultural changes, and shifting borders. In the end, the northern kingdoms eventually united and took back the last major area in 1492, helping form the basis for modern Spain. The Reconquista is also important because it shaped the languages, architecture, and traditions that still exist in that region today.
