Description
Parthia was a powerful ancient Iranian empire that lasted from about 247 BC to 224 AD, controlling large parts of the Middle East, including modern-day Iran and Iraq. It was founded by the Arsacid dynasty and became one of the main rivals of the Roman Empire. Parthia was especially known for its highly skilled cavalry, including horse archers who used hit-and-run tactics in battle. The empire also played a major role in trade, acting as a key link along the Silk Road between the East and West. Its decentralized government allowed local rulers to maintain control, which helped it manage a vast and diverse territory.
