Police Scotland Poileas A-Iba Keeping People Safe Police Scotland, more formally known as the Police Service of Scotland, was formed in 2013 under the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012. It is the national and territorial police service that is responsible for policing the diverse length and breadth of Scotland. Police Scotland's role is to improve the safety and wellbeing of our people and communities by preventing, protecting and investigating crime.
