𝐀𝐍𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐙𝐎𝐆𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐑 Created February 16, 2021 Joining Anhalt-Bernburg in 1806, Anhalt-Dessau and Anhalt-Köthen were raised to duchies by Napoleon Bonaparte. Together, they would contribute nearly 1,400 troops to fight alongside Napoleon’s Grand Armee in Spain, Russia, Tyrol, Gdańsk, and Kulm. After the disastrous defeat handed to Napoleon at Leipzig in 1813, the allies were practically on the doorstep to the de-facto Anhalt capital of Dessau. Come 1814, battered Anhalt troops would return home to be reorganized to fight alongside the Sixth Coalition against Napoleon. Though they would never reach their full strength, Anhalt forces would see extensive combat in the Hundred Days campaign of 1815.
