📌𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 📌 The National Army was mostly utilized in a security role, fighting Chinese communist guerillas in the countryside and defending from border incursions by the Soviet Union. At its peak it numbered nearly 400,000 men, but only elite units were ever utilized in frontline service due to the poor loyalty of regular units. Originally, its purpose was to supplement the Japanese Army, but after the start of the Pacific War its primary purpose became national defense.
