ʟᴇɢɪᴏ xɪɪɪ ɢᴇᴍɪɴᴀ The 13th Twin Legion, or Legio XIII Gemina, served as a prominent legion of the Imperial army. It was crucial to Julius Caesar during his campaigns in Gaul and in the civil war. It was with this legion that he crossed the Rubicon in January, potentially on the 10th, in 49 BC. The legion remained active until at least the 5th century AD. Throughout its existence, the legion's emblem was a lion.
