Description

During the late Roman Republic, which lasted from approximately 133 BCE to 31 BCE, the standing army evolved into a formidable force. Organized into legions, each consisting of around 4,800 infantry and 300 cavalry-- these legions were highly disciplined and well-trained, employing effective tactics to counter their opponent.
