36º Rеgimiento dе Infantеría de Irlandа #33466766
Description
🌿 VIVA EL REY! The Regiment of Ireland was the oldest of the Irish regiments in Spanish service. Formed in 1698 as part of the "Wild Geese" departing Ireland to serve in the armies of continental Europe. They wore a blue coat with yellow facings, lapel, and collar as well as having the iconic bicorne used by the Spanish for much of the war. The regiment participated valiantly in many battles until the end of the war in Spain and was disbanded along with the rest of the Irish regiments in 1818.
