Description

The House of Marcourt finds it's origins in the Tudor period, when King Henry VII and his descendants ruled the Kingdom of England. Starting as a lowborn family, using their wit and cunning they were able to float to the top of the English aristocracy which resulted in them being raised to nobility by Henry VII's granddaughter, Elizabeth I. Their family seat, Hellebore Hall, was granted to them in tandem with their status. It is a castle made of weathered bricks complete with limestone detailings. The castle was famous for blooming green gardens with exotic flowers consisting of red and purple hues. The property they were granted was overshadowed by an old tower, which was used to keep prisoners during the Wars of the Roses. The Marcourts converted this into a library, where they keep their most confidential manuscripts, and renamed the building Martagon Tower. The Marcourt's extensive collection of manuscripts is used to aid the DeLongpre family's archivists.
