It was composed of all the German states, which include Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony etc. The German Army was considered the most disciplined and most powerful army that was on the continent of Europe. It had notable and genius commanders, such of the likes of Moltke, who revolutionised the mobilisation of troops to the front with the use of trains and new tactics.
