The 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 (𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗖) is the Royal Canadian Navy's Pacific formation, responsible for the operational readiness, training, and command of Canada's Pacific Fleet. It oversees all RCN activities in the Pacific Ocean, the Indo-Pacific and the western seaboard. Key functions and responsibilities of MARPAC include: • Overseeing the Canadian Pacific Fleet, which includes frigates , maritime coastal defence vessels and long-range patrol submarines • Ensuring that naval personnel, equipment, and training are ready for missions • Conducts sovereignty patrols along Canada's Pacific coastline and in the western Arctic Ocean • Conducts joint maritime and multilateral operations and exercises with allied forces to enhance Canadian and North American security MARPAC works in concert with Maritime Forces Atlantic (MARLANT), which is responsible for the RCN's Atlantic operations.
