281st Assault Helicopter Company “Intruders” “𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞” ═───────────═ The 281st Assault Helicopter Company was one of the U.S. Army’s first dedicated special operations aviation units in Vietnam. Operating primarily UH-1 “Huey” slicks and gunships, the 281st supported the 5th Special Forces Group and MACV-SOG, inserting and extracting recon teams deep in enemy territory. The unit specialized in low-level, high-risk missions—often under heavy fire—providing rapid troop transport, resupply, medevac, and direct gunship support.
