𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐊𝐎𝐍 ───────────── The Hoplitikon formed the armored core of the Stratia, composed of enfranchised citizens drawn from the island's most established and prosperous households. Raised in families of means and afforded a more formal education, they were expected not only to fight with distinction, but to embody the virtues of discipline, leadership, and civic duty. Unlike the ordinary militia, the Hoplitikon equipped themselves at their own expense, appearing on campaign in finely crafted armor, reinforced cuirasses, and crested helmets. Many bore ancestral shields, spears, and heirlooms passed down through generations, carrying into battle the legacy of forefathers who had fought in the wars and triumphs of Rhodes. Renowned for their training and steadfastness, the Hoplitikon occupied the most demanding positions within the phalanx, where discipline and courage were tested most severely. To stand among their ranks was both a privilege and an obligation. ─────────────
