𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐋 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐄𝐒 特別陸戦隊 — Imperial Japanese Navy Functioning as Japan’s naval infantry, the Special Naval Landing Forces conducted amphibious assaults and garrison duties throughout the Pacific and Southeast Asia. They participated in operations in places such as Shanghai, the Philippines, and the Dutch East Indies, often engaging in intense combat. Although initially effective, they suffered heavy losses in later battles such as Tarawa and Iwo Jima.
