𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐉𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐕𝐘 大日本帝國海軍 As a central component of Japan’s military strategy, the Imperial Japanese Navy aimed to establish maritime dominance in East Asia and the Pacific. It launched the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and led naval operations throughout the Pacific War, including campaigns in Southeast Asia and the Solomon Islands. The Navy emphasized carrier-based warfare and played a decisive role until it began losing ground to Allied forces after 1942.
