中華民國陸軍以「防衛固守、有效嚇阻」為核心，平時負責臺澎金馬守備、訓練與災防，戰時聯合海空軍擊退敵軍。部隊結構以司令部為核心，下轄各軍團、航空特戰指揮部、教育訓練暨準則發展指揮部、後勤指揮部等，主力為步兵、裝甲兵、砲兵等戰鬥兵科，配有機械化步兵旅與防衛指揮部。The Republic of China Army (ROC) is based on the core principles of "defense and effective deterrence." In peacetime, it is responsible for the defense, training, and disaster prevention of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. In wartime, it works in conjunction with the navy and air force to repel enemy forces. The army structure is centered on the headquarters, which includes various corps, aviation and special operations command, education, training and doctrine development command, logistics command, etc. Its main forces are infantry, armored forces, artillery, and other combat branches, and it is equipped with mechanized infantry brigades and defense command.
