Description
The Protectorate is the Archon’s direct protective and military establishment. It exists to defend the sovereign, preserve the continuity of the state, and respond to threats that touch the person of the Archon, the stability of the Imperium, or the integrity of its highest institutions. Unlike the City Watch, which maintains public order, or the Navy, which projects Imperial force abroad, the Protectorate is a more select and central authority. It is concerned with protection at the highest level: the defense of the Crown, the safeguarding of critical institutions, and the maintenance of elite forces entrusted with duties beyond ordinary branch responsibility. The Protectorate is therefore not merely another armed branch. It is the Crown’s own shield: a loyal, elite establishment standing between the sovereign and every threat, whether open, hidden, internal, or external.
