Description
The Absaroka Highway Commission, now the Absaroka Department of Highways, was established in February of 1961, following the enactment of the State Highways and Infrastructure Act, as a state-level infrastructure engineering, maintenance, and planning agency of the State of Absaroka. In November of 1971, following an amendment of the State Highways and Infrastructure Act, the Absaroka Highway Commission was renamed and restructured into the Absaroka Department of Highways. Today, the Absaroka Department of Highways continues to serve as a state-level infrastructure engineering, maintenance, and planning agency of the State of Absaroka, responsible for engineering, maintaining, constructing, and planning roadways and roadway infrastructure.
