The Absaroka Department of Military Affairs was established in September of 1961, following the enactment of the Military Administration Organization Act, as a state-level military agency of the State of Absaroka. Today, the Absaroka Department of Military Affairs continues to serve as a state-level military agency of the State of Absaroka, responsible for oversight, command, and administration of both the Absaroka Army and Air National Guards.
